Camp
Lochalsh
Camp
Lochalsh is our lakeside resort capable of accommodating up to
45 people for hunting or exclusive large American Plan groups.
The lodge is available for outpost-style Housekeeping Packages
at any time for groups up to 20. We also run Bear and Moose hunts
out of Camp Lochalsh in the fall.
Located
on the extreme south end of Wabatongushi Lake, Camp Lochalsh is
5 miles south of Loch Island and only 1.5 miles from Otter Island
or Sandy Bay. The resort has 10 cabins, all of which boast 3-
or 4-piece baths, 24-hour-a-day direct line electricity, and thermostatically
controlled electric heat.

With its large dining room and infamous
Trappers Lounge meeting lodge, family reunions, corporate
retreats, and large groups will find this an ideal location to
entertain year after year.
Camp Lochalsh sits conveniently on the mainland, just inside the
Chapleau Crown Game Preserve. The Canadian Pacific Railway is
just a quarter-mile south of camp and is the southern border of
this massive wildlife refuge. Camp Lochalsh offers Black Bear
and Moose hunting in the fall, adjacent to the preserve.
Also just south of Camp Lochalsh is the
newly formed Manitou Mountain Conservation Reserve. The mountain
itself provides additional hiking and exploring opportunties for
guests, with guided tours available at no extra cost. Its breathtaking
views and interesting rock formations are well worth the hike.
With a variety of packages and outdoor recreation
opportunities, Camp Lochalsh is much more than just a fishing
and hunting resort. While visiting us, ask about our hiking, mushroom
hunting, wildlife tours, and abandoned gold mine adventures. There
is so much to explore at Camp Lochalsh!
Also
available at Camp Lochalsh is a wood-fired log sauna. It comes
in handy on those crisp spring and autumn nights. Our horseshoe
pit, swimming platform, and basketball hoop will keep children
busy in the daytime while ping pong, board games, cards, and fish
stories keep everybody occupied in Trappers Lounge at night.
